Wine Tasting Group

We have proudly cultivated a particularly active and impressive Wine Tasting Group. Established in 2009 (based on a similar idea in Rotary) and open to members only, it typifies the friendly, collaborative way that our Probus Club operates.

Our group is privileged to be guided by leading experts who have retired from the wine industry, maybe still producing wines, or who have a life-long interest in wine. We conduct four to five tastings per year with members being introduced to (and educated about) various aspects of the Australian wine scene.

Each tasting is a fascinating, informative exploration of Australian wines and involves eight to ten seductively tempting wines.  Tasted wines are all of a very high quality and encompass a wide variety of grapes, wine styles and regional characteristics.  

The cost of participating varies depending on the wines tasted and on the number of participants, but is generally less than half of the price of a drinkable wine in a restaurant. Members enjoy the convivial friendly fellowship that such functions can provide. The Wine Tasting Group is a welcoming environment for our members who enjoy tasting fine wines with friends.
